    Nearly 7,400 miniature flags dotted the lawn at the University of Washington campus this Memorial Day. Each flag signified a veteran's life lost to suicide in a single year. The display, along with a series of events, called attention to veteran mental health issues and the ways friends and loved ones can respond.
