In February of 2021, the HHS Region 1 hosted the first Diversity Inclusion Project Showcase (DIPS) through their Behavioral Health Matters Diversity Inclusion Project Showcase event.
Building on the model created by Region 1, the SAMHSA Office of Behavioral Health Equity (OBHE) and NNED National Facilitation Center created a DIPS event that engaged all ten HHS regions. This first event, held in August 2021 brought together NNED community-based organizations (CBOs), state and regional leaders, and philanthropic organizations.
Recognizing that the original NNED DIPS event was held at a time difficult for participation from organizations and leaders in the Pacific Islands, a separate event was held in February 2022 to engage these partners.
Hawai’i and Pacific Islands DIPS
Held February 10/February 11, 2022, this event, specifically invited CBOs from Hawai’i and the Pacific islands; Hawai’i, Pacific Island, and regional leaders; and philanthropic organizations to increase the access to and visibility of CBOs and learn more about what is needed to support behavioral health in the region.
NNED DIPS – HHS 10 Regions
Hosted on August 31, 2021, this event, the first NNED-hosted DIPS event, brought together CBOs from the 10 HHS Regions, state and regional leaders, and philanthropic organizations.
2022 NNED DIPS
Held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 , this event engaged organizations from most of the HHS Regions and partners from around the US to learn more about the vital work of community-based organizations and discussions around innovations and what is needed in funding partnerships to sustain their work.
