The School Based Mental Health Services Grant Program offers grants to increase the number of qualified mental health service professionals providing school based mental health services to students in local educational agencies (LEAs) with a with demonstrated need.
Applicants must propose to increase the number of qualified school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, or other mental health professionals, including those who provide services remotely (telehealth), by implementing plans to address the recruitment and retention of service providers in LEAs with demonstrated need.
Preference will be given to applications that address:
- The respecialization of existing mental health service providers to qualify them for work in LEAs with a demonstrated need
- Rural areas, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and American Indian/Alaska Natives
Applications are due July 13, 2020.
