Expanding Access to Substance Use Disorder Recovery Grant

Funder: Hanley Family Foundation
Due Date: July 31, 2022
Visit Web Site

The Hanley Family Fondation (HFF) focuses on organizations whose primary focus is to help individuals to recover from substance use disorder (SUD). Due to the lack of treatment services, opportunities to support new or expanding programs that will allow more people to seek recovery are particularly attractive to HFF.

If you are interested in applying for a grant from HFF, you must begin the process by submitting online a letter of inquiry (LOI). This will enable them to determine if it is appropriate and timely for you to apply for a grant. To qualify, your organization must be a public charity and tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and it must have a project or program that, if funded, would further the stated mission. HFF does not currently fund grants to organizations whose primary focus is medical research, prevention or education programs or public policy related to SUD.

Letters of Inquiry are required. Applications are due July 31, 2022.

We at New Afrikan Ministries are aware of the many individuals who also use substances to self medicate their behavioral health challenges.

Our non profit program is geared to also assist those persons with peer to peer support and avenues to resources for inpatient detoxification facilities and once programs are completed. We assign each person a peer to be a support while re entering into the community. These individuals are given hope, empowerment and guidance with transportation to court appointments, housing referrals, substance use support groups and gaining employment or becoming a business owner whatever they deem as their purpose driven dream.

We have been working diligently during these times with those who have been incarcerated due to their substance use. This population per our data collections is shown as 40% of these persons having been using from their adolescent years.

Support has been noted as one of the key factors of recovery. So we at New Afrikan Ministries would like this opportunity if granted to be able to continue our services without any interruptions due to this pandemic.

The pandemic has caused the uprise in substance use among our country’s people per self reported cases in our surveys during these times.
