Addressing Behavioral Health Disparities Through Faith-Health Partnerships

October 27, 2010

On this NNED Network in Action Forum Call that took place on October 20, 2010 the NNED’s Faith Based Learning Cluster presented on how to address disparities in behavioral health through faith-health partnerships. Two members from the Learning Cluster presented on programs that they are implementing in their local communities in Texas to address disparities in partnership with faith-based organizations.  Learn how you can begin to develop faith-health partnerships to improve access to care in your community.

Talaun Thompson from Muslim Community Center for Human Services in Texas presented on Cross-Cultural Awareness of Domestic violence: Aspects of Domestic Violence from Different Cultural and Religious Orientations.

Maria del Carmen Uceda-Gras from Las Obras de Nuestra Madre de las Americas in Texas will present on – The PERDÓN (Forgiveness) Process: A Spiritual Resource to Reduce Health Disparities within Faith-Behavioral Health Partnerships.
