Requirements for becoming a facilitator:
- A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s or advanced degree is preferable.
- Ability and experience in working with the Latino community and other minority communities.
- Experience with individuals and/or groups in capacitation for community groups, organizations and schools.
- Knowledge and experience with different models of facilitation and group facilitators.
- Basic knowledge of mental health issues such as acculturation, communication styles, anger management, stress management and parent-child relationships.
- It is recommended the facilitator be a person that demonstrates leadership in his or her community. The facilitator will be known for his dedication in fomenting good mental health in the Latino community.
- Ability to speak in English/Spanish.
