National Leadership Forum: Partnering for Prevention

Join CADCA for the 28th National Leadership Forum including SAMHSA's 14th Prevention Day, the premier and largest training event for community-based substance abuse prevention professionals, coalition leaders and prevention and addiction researchers.

CADCA’s National Leadership Forum is a four-day event packed with opportunities to learn the latest strategies to fight substance abuse and hear from nationally-known prevention experts, federal administrators, and concerned policymakers. The Forum brings together over 3,000 participants representing coalitions from all regions of the country and internationally, government leaders, youth, prevention specialists, addiction treatment professionals, addiction recovery advocates, researchers, education institutions, law enforcement professionals, and faith-based leaders.

SAMHSA's 14th Annual Prevention Day (Monday, February 5, 2017)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will convene its 14th Annual Prevention Day on Monday, February 5, 2018, in conjunction with CADCA’s 28th National Leadership Forum.

This exciting one-day event features dynamic speakers and informative training sessions for prevention practitioners, community leaders, researchers, and consumers in the behavioral health field to share SAMHSA’s prevention priorities for the coming year and provide participants with the necessary training, technical assistance, and resources to successfully address these prevention issues.

Share your experiences and information with other SAMHSA grantees and partners, and build your program skills across a variety of prevention topics. Also, learn how to leverage your community’s efforts, tell your prevention story, and showcase the impact of your prevention programming on community health by getting involved in SAMHSA’s 2018 National Prevention Week – “Action Today. Healthier Tomorrow” This annual health observance is dedicated to increasing public awareness of, and action around substance use disorders as well as issues related to mental health. Participants can check out the Cyber Cafe to find a wealth of SAMHSA’s multimedia prevention resources addressing topics such as prescription drug misuse and abuse, underage drinking, youth marijuana use, and suicide prevention.
