FREDLA’s LC for Family Leaders: Family-Run Organizations Partnering with Juvenile Justice

Thursday, February 22, 2018 | 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. EDT

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has prioritized family engagement where families are considered partners in their child’s treatment and the policies, programs, and practices of the juvenile justice system itself. Implementation of this policy at the local level is an opportunity for family-run organizations to partner with their state or community Juvenile Justice agencies.

The Learning Community will highlight two family-run organizations, Family Involvement Center (FIC) in Arizona and Parent Professional Advocacy League (PPAL) in Massachusetts, along with their state Juvenile Justice partners to describe how they are working together to support and engage families at all levels of the Juvenile Justice system.
